Being a member at KAM Isaiah Israel means being part of a sacred Jewish community on Chicago’s South Side. Experience the richness of our diverse congregation, which has something for everyone.
Join us for Shabbat, Jewish holidays, communal singing, shared learning, and meaningful tikkun olam (world repair) activities, such as our food justice gardening initiative. All members have full access to clergy.
Supportive, Loving Community
Join a diverse, multigenerational community that prays together, learns together, dines together, and supports one another.
Family Programming and Youth Engagement
Our Friday afternoon religious school – Shoresh – rolls right into family Shabbat services, which has created a strong sense of community among Shoresh families. For youth, there are numerous opportunities to explore and cultivate Jewish identity, including b’nei mitzvah tutoring, social justice projects, and trips to New York and Washington, DC.
History and Legacy
Become part of the nearly 200-year history of our congregation by praying with us in our historic sanctuary, delving into the musical traditions of Max Janowski, and learning about our long commitment to social justice in Chicago and beyond.
KAM Isaiah Israel welcomes members into our vibrant community with an annual “Brit Kehilah”, or community commitment, sustaining the synagogue’s operations. Membership is open to all, and members can choose their preferred commitment level.
