Our KAM Isaiah Israel Community
We are a thriving Reform congregation located in the historic Hyde Park-Kenwood neighborhood just seven miles south of downtown Chicago. Our diverse community comes from across the city and greater Chicagoland. We welcome interfaith families, families with young children, empty nester families, mature adults, emerging adults, and anyone seeking an invigorating Jewish experience.
As the oldest Jewish congregation in the Midwest, we are known for authentic and innovative Jewish music, quality education for adults and children, and social justice. Join us at a Friday night or Saturday morning worship service, a congregational dinner, Saturday morning Torah study, a learning opportunity for children or adults, or another program or event. We welcome everyone to enjoy High Holy Day services in our landmark, Byzantine-inspired sanctuary.
OUR GOALS are to create:
A sacred place for worshipping together
We celebrate Shabbat in a way that brings meaning to our lives and enriches our spirits
A safe place to find community
We are a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone of all backgrounds and abilities to engage in Jewish life
A harmonizing place to experience uplifting and inspiring music
We combine musical traditions and innovative Jewish music to experiences within and beyond worship
A collaborative place for cultivating study and education
We create superb, comprehensive, and lifelong Jewish educational experiences for all ages to instill Judaism's core values and traditions
A commitment to Israel and world Jewry
We strengthen and encourage vital connections between members of the congregation and the Jewish people, in the State of Israel, and around the world
