Shabbat Shirah at Rockefeller Chapel

Friday, February 3, 2023 12 Sh'vat 5783

7:30 PM - 9:30 PMRockefeller Chapel

In celebration of KAM Isaiah Israel's 175th anniversary and the 175th anniversary of organized Jewish life Chicago, our service will be composed entirely of music by Chicago based composers, from the very earliest hymnal printed here in 1868 all the way to a new setting of Psalm 150.

The Hyde Park Jewish Choral Society is RE-forming for Shabbat Shirah on Friday, February 3 from 7:30PM-9:00PM at Rockefeller Memorial Chapel. We will sing together with the Rockefeller Chapel Choir, conductor James Kallembach, Tom Weisflog at the organ, and a few other special guests. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring in new people to our circle of singers!

The service is co-sponsored by KAM Isaiah Israel, Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, the Chicago History Museum, and the Lowell Milken Center for Music of American Jewish Experience at UCLA.

The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.

For directions and campus orientation, please see the University of Chicago's map site.  Rockefeller Chapel is located at 5850 S. Woodlawn Avenue.
